What we believe

FinOps is not a cost-cutting project.

Too many organisations treat FinOps as a one-off optimisation exercise — reduce the bill, declare victory, move on. We see it differently. FinOps works when it becomes part of how your organisation operates: when the right people own the decisions, the data is trusted, and the framework guides what happens next. That takes structure, not just savings.

People own the decisions

FinOps does not belong to a central team producing reports. It works when finance, engineering, and procurement share a language, share the data, and share accountability for the outcomes.

Data earns trust over time

A dashboard is not a data strategy. We believe in building governed, normalised cost and usage data — grounded in FOCUS — that teams actually rely on to make decisions week after week.

The FinOps Framework is not a maturity checklist. It is a way to sequence capability, set priorities, and make sure progress compounds — whether you are starting out or scaling across new scopes.

Ruben
Vander Stockt

Nearly eight years at Google as Customer Engineer, working with large enterprises across Workspace, GCP and Chrome Enterprise — including a period as acting security lead for EMEA. After that, Director of Solutions Engineering at Showpad, leading a European team of ten. The cloud industry from every angle: technology, sales, and leadership.

Founded across.cloud in 2021 after recognising that the discipline emerging around cloud financial management was the missing piece he had been seeing for years. Spent time inside AWS in a cloud finance role to understand how the hyperscaler sees the problem from the inside. Now works as an embedded FinOps practitioner — currently leading FinOps data architecture at Telenet, building FOCUS-based datasets across AWS, Snowflake and Dagster.

Director of Community for the FinOps Foundation in EMEA from 2023 to 2025 — organising practitioner roadshows across Europe and helping grow the community to thousands of professionals. Active contributor to FOCUS. Regular speaker at FinOps X and community events.
